- I've just installed Vista-eXceed 3.3 and am running it over Trumpet Winsock.
- I was previously using the XWin demo, so everything else was already working.
-
- Most things seem to work for a short time, but eventually eXceed seems to get
- confused, and the text disappears from all of the X windows. The windows
- also refuse to accept any input, and can't be closed because the termination
- calls don't seem to be getting through.
-
- Trumpet, eXceed and Windows all seem perfectly happy, with none of them
- actually reporting a fault. If I select the 'server reset' option within
- eXceed, then all of the old sessions are closed and I can successfully open
- new ones.
-
- I can cause the problem by running NCSA Mosaic (X version) and panning the
- screen up and down a few times. Eventually the text disappears and it no
- longer responds to commands.
-
- It seems to be caused by the windows being updated, i.e. when you remove a
- windows from on top of another, the bottom one refreshing seems to cause the
- crash.
-
- Anyone have any ideas as to what could be causing this problem?
-
- When an X screen is refreshed does the refresh info come from the server or
- is it help in local memory? (I.e. could the problem be Trumpet?)
-
- TIA
